New Botanicals

Here is a sneak peak at some of the illustrations I have been working on. A Swedish modern take on those old botanical prints that were everywhere in the 18th century.
This green is so deliciously bookish and reminds me of one of my favorite children's books growing up "Frog and Toad".I'm really enjoying the simplicity of these little botanicals. Not to mention that having only two colors makes photographing and editing a breeeeze.
I often have a quality check on my art pieces that tells me if they are keepers or something to be hastily stashed away.
If I get the impulse to eat it, well that is the highest compliment I can give myself, however, that is rare and I usually go by another measure beyond appetite. "Would I put that in my house?" And these little ones pass with flying colors...I am imagining the perfect spot riiiight now.
